About our Speaker:

Ryan Haws is the Chair of LightGabler LLP’s Employment Law Advice and Counsel Department. He regularly collaborates with companies of all sizes and industries to minimize legal risk, resolve workplace disputes, and maintain business productivity.  Ryan’s practice encompasses comprehensive counseling for employers in all aspects of employment law, including:

Speaking Engagements and Publications – Ryan is a sought-after speaker on employment law topics for a wide range of business and industry groups, including multiple chapters of the Professionals in Human Resources Association (PIHRA), the National Human Resources Association (NHRA), and the Employer Advisory Council. He frequently presents at LightGabler LLP’s monthly employment law programs, covering critical topics for employers, managers, and HR professionals. Ryan has also authored numerous articles on employment law topics for various business journals and news organizations. He is a former member of the Jerome H. Berenson American Inns of Court, Ventura County Chapter.

Community Involvement – Ryan has been recognized as one of the “Top Up-and-Coming Business Professionals” and “Who’s Who in Professional Services by the Pacific Coast Business Times. He has been named a Trusted Advisor by the San Fernando Valley Business Journal and a Lead of Influence by the Los Angeles Business Journal.  He serves the local employer community as a Board Member of the Western Ventura County Employer Advisory Council and the Ventura County Professionals in Human Resources Association. He is also an active member of the Ventura County Bar Association. Previously, Ryan served as a board member for the California Strawberry Festival. In his spare time, he coaches local youth baseball, basketball, and softball leagues for his children. He is also an active member of his church community.

Education – Ryan earned his bachelor’s degree from Brigham Young University and his master’s degree from the University of Utah. He obtained his Juris Doctor from Loyola Law School, Los Angeles. Ryan is admitted to practice law before the State Bar of California and the United States District Court for the Central District of California.

Personal Background – Ryan is a Ventura County native, raised in Newbury Park, where he currently resides with his wife and three children. When not working or spending time with his family, he enjoys surfing and playing or watching almost any available sport. Ryan is also conversational in Spanish.
